The Founder’s Marketing Guide
Hi, I’m Anna-Louise,
I flit between Bristol(adult home), Devon (childhood home) and much much much warmer climates, when I can.
If you watch my IG Stories you’ll quickly realise I run to eat and live for the sun.
My skillset includes (but is not limited to):
The ability to spend over £50 in a chip shop (and no it wasn’t one of those fancy ones, it was a proper one).
Planning CIRCULAR routes on Strava. None of this there and back nonsense.
Taking pictures that look better than the place itself on the love of my life - my FujifilmX100VI.
Finding the yummiest places to eat via Google Maps (this habit is responsible for 80% of my screen time).
Anyway, enough of dissecting my personality…
I don’t know about you, but I’m over hacks, “proven tactics,” and performative perfectionism that make marketing feel hollow.
As founders, we deserve more.
And that’s why I’m reimagining how we build and market ourselves.
I want my work to fuel my creativity, fund a life of laughter with friends and family.
To let me travel when the UK weather becomes unbearable and allow me to go to midday pilates and meet some truly inspiring people.
Over the last few years, I’ve been unlearning the marketing ‘rules’ that left me feeling disconnected from my work and creating from my now rhythm instead.
Where It Began
I set out to do a degree in Event Management because I love bringing people together, and I’m good at it (I’m that friend in the group who is always making the plans, you know the one)!
At one point I even took this to the next level by creating elaborate immersive experiences for fancy London shops and festivals (see the Pink Telephone box and a pool of petals below)!
But I soon came to HATE having my time dictated by event schedules - missing friends’ birthdays, family time.
I wanted an autonomy the industry couldn’t offer.
Filling up a ‘pool’ (actually a pond) of just petals takes so much longer than you’d ever imagine!
This was my pride and joy!
So I pivoted and fell in love with the power of good marketing.
How, when done with intention, it draws the right people and opportunities toward you. And by that I don’t just mean sales, I mean people who lift you up, spur you on and make what you do worthwhile.
After redundancy from my PR and Communications role I suddenly found myself with more time on my hands than I’d had in years.
I joined my local run club, I started creative projects and spent quality time with family.
It made me realise just how much of life I’d been squeezing around work.
As freelance marketing work came in gradually, it built itself around this new lifestyle, not the other way around.
It taught me something I’d never experienced before: your work doesn’t have to swallow your life.
Now, I help founders escape the productivity trap and reconnect to the creative heartbeat of their business, so their marketing feels alive again.
After 6+ years in marketing, I’ve seen too many founders experience paralysis from perfectionism, burnout from building against their own rhythm and creating content that blends in instead of stands out.
The Founder’s Way, my business philosophy is my answer to that.
The Founder’s Way is a way of working that blurs the seams between life and business — where your days feed your ideas, and your marketing feels alive again.
It’s not about doing less. It’s about doing it differently:
Business that moves with your energy, not against it.
Marketing rooted in rhythm, not rigid plans.
Growth through connection, not constant output.
I’m not here to help you churn out content. I’m here to help you build something felt.
A business you want to be in.
One that reflects your voice, your values, and the real world you live in.
Whether it’s a newsletter that sounds like you, an IRL founder table that sparks your next collaboration, or a morning walk that turns into your best marketing idea — The Founder’s Way proves that meaningful growth doesn’t mean disconnection.
